1. What put.io does
put.io helps you download files from public sources, including the BitTorrent network, ordinary download links and many video sites. Our servers act as a proxy: they download the file for you and save it to your private storage. You choose what to download. We don't operate the sources, choose your files, or tell you where to find them.
We provide the downloading and storage, not the files themselves. What you download is your choice, and you must have the right to download, store, use and share it.
There's no public catalogue
We don't list, recommend or promote other members' files. You can search your own files and files shared with you. You can't browse through anyone else's storage, and we won't show you what's in it.
Your storage is private
No setting makes a file available to everyone on put.io. You can share with friends on put.io through your sharing settings, or give anyone a temporary share link, whether or not they have an account. Links expire and have usage limits. Sharing is not a way to run a public distribution service.
put.io is not an archive or a backup service
We can't promise a file will always be available, and files can be deleted, including after your plan ends. Please don't use put.io as your only copy of anything important.
By using put.io, you agree to these terms.
2. Your account and files
Your account
You must be at least 18 and legally allowed to use put.io. That includes everyone on a family plan too.
Give us accurate account information and keep it up to date. Keep your login details secure. Anything done with your login is your responsibility, whether by you or by an app, script, agent or other tool you use.
Your files
Your files are your business. We don't claim any ownership of them, and you keep whatever rights you have in them.
You give us permission to store, process and deliver your files as needed to provide, operate and protect put.io. This includes the hosting and delivery providers we use as described on our Services we use page.
We never sell your files or your personal data. Our Privacy policy and KVKK notice explain what we collect and how we use it.
If several accounts hold the same file, they can share one stored copy. When you ask us to download a file we already hold, we can give it to you straight from storage instead of downloading it again. Accounts stay separate, and you can't see or choose another member's files. When no account holds a file any more, we delete the stored copy.
When you delete a file, it's removed from your account. If you use Trash, it stays there until the date shown, then it's gone. Deleting a file doesn't touch anyone else's copy of the same file.
3. Plans and payments
We offer two plan types. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Prepaid plans end when the period you paid for runs out. The price, length and allowances are shown at checkout. By choosing a subscription, you agree to be charged each time it renews.
Your purchase is handled by a payment provider. Depending on the payment method, it either processes your payment or acts as the merchant of record, meaning it sells you the plan and sends you the invoice. Checkout shows which provider it is and the terms that apply.
A trial is a prepaid plan. It ends when the trial period runs out and doesn't roll over into another plan. The price, length and allowances are shown with the offer.
A family plan lets several people share one plan's allowances, each with their own account. The plan owner manages who's in it, but can't see your files unless you share them. If you leave a family plan, or it ends, you can reactivate your account by buying your own plan or joining another family plan.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a subscription from your account. It won't renew after that, and you can keep using put.io until the end of the period you've paid for.
Our Refund policy explains how refunds work. If we refund time you've paid for, your access for that time ends, but that doesn't destroy your account. Fixing a duplicate charge or other billing error doesn't, on its own, cut short the time you've paid for.
If your plan ends
Without an active plan, you can still browse and manage the files in your account, but you can't download or stream them. We keep them for a limited grace period before deleting them, so you have time to reactivate without losing them. We can still remove files sooner where these terms allow.
4. Using put.io responsibly
Don't use put.io to break the law or infringe on other people's rights. Don't use it to:
- Harm people. This includes threats, harassment, fraud, impersonation, privacy violations and facilitating abuse or exploitation. Don't store or distribute personal information obtained through theft, a data breach or any other unlawful act.
- Abuse or exploit children. Child sexual abuse material, and any material that depicts, promotes or facilitates child abuse or exploitation, is prohibited.
- Support malware or ransomware attacks. Don't create, host or distribute malware, or run ransomware attacks. put.io is not a place to keep or share files stolen from anyone, at any stage of an attack.
- Attack or interfere with systems, ours or anyone else's. This includes unauthorised access, interception, denial-of-service attacks, and trying to bypass authentication, billing, rate limits or other safeguards. Sending a script, agent or other tool to do it for you counts too.
- Misrepresent or resell put.io. Don't impersonate put.io or suggest we endorse you or your service when we don't. Don't resell put.io, rent out account access, or run it as a commercial distribution operation. Legitimate personal, educational and work use is welcome.
- Get around sharing limits. Don't rotate, automate or combine share links or accounts to bypass limits or keep an expired share available.
- Abuse accounts. Don't create accounts with unauthorised automation, a false identity or fraud. Don't open a new account to get around a restriction, ban or trial limit, and don't use your account to send spam.
Apps, automation and limits
You're welcome to use our API and supported tools. The same rules apply whether you act yourself or through automation.
Don't knowingly overload put.io or go over its rate limits, and don't bypass its safeguards or other limits. Don't use automated tools to access, extract or index anything you're not allowed to.
We may set and enforce limits on storage, transfers, bandwidth, simultaneous downloads and streams, sharing and other use of put.io. Some of them are shown with your plan or in your account.
If you connect a third-party app or tool, that provider may receive any information you give it access to. Its own terms and privacy practices apply. Your devices, internet connection and third-party charges are your responsibility.
5. Changes, restrictions and closing accounts
Changes to put.io
We may change, pause or stop any part of put.io at any time, temporarily or permanently. When we do, it's for technical, security, legal, capacity or business reasons, or to prevent abuse.
Protecting put.io
We may investigate suspected violations, limit or suspend access, remove files or close accounts. When we do, it's to enforce these terms, protect put.io or other people, deal with abuse, fraud or security problems, or meet legal requirements.
Destroying your account
You can destroy your account on the Account page. This deletes it and your files, and it can't be undone.
We keep some limited records, as explained in our Privacy policy, and your payment provider keeps its own transaction records.
Destroying your account won't get you a refund on its own. Our Refund policy explains how refunds work.
6. Our responsibilities and limits
Some of your rights are protected by law and can't be signed away, and some of our responsibilities can't be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms changes that.
What we promise, and what we don’t
Our promises are the ones in these terms, like keeping your storage private and never selling your files or personal data. Beyond those, put.io is provided "as is" and "as available".
We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that results will be accurate or reliable, that every feature will meet your needs, or that every problem will be fixed. We make no other warranties, express or implied, including of title, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Nothing we tell you, including through support, adds to these promises.
Limits on liability
We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages. The same goes for loss of data, profits, goodwill, use, time or opportunity. This applies whatever the legal basis of a claim, even if we were told these losses were possible.
These limits include claims arising from interruptions, any part of put.io being changed or stopped, missing or damaged files, unauthorized access, what other people or companies do, or the cost of switching to another service. We're not responsible for whether the files you choose to download or access are legal, accurate or good quality.
You use files from put.io at your own risk. We're not responsible if a file you download or access damages your device or causes you to lose data.
Third-party apps, services and websites aren't ours, and we're not responsible for them.
Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the plan period the claim relates to.
These disclaimers and limits also cover the people and companies who work with us on put.io, and they may rely on and enforce them.
7. Other terms and contact
Feedback
We welcome ideas and suggestions. If you send us feedback about put.io, we may use or share it without paying you for it. We do like giving credit where it's due, and you can see some of the people who've helped us on our About page.
Governing law and disputes
We're based in Istanbul, Türkiye. Turkish law governs these terms, and the courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction. This doesn't affect consumer protections that can't be signed away, or any right you have to bring a claim elsewhere.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. When we do, we'll publish the new version and give you any notice the law requires before it applies to you. If you keep using put.io after that, the new terms apply.
About this agreement
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
Our Refund policy and Copyright policy are part of this agreement. Together with these terms, they're the full agreement between you and us about put.io, and they replace any earlier versions. No one else can enforce these terms, except the people and companies who work with us, as section 6 explains.
Your agreement is with PUTIO İnternet Hizmetleri A.Ş., the company that runs put.io. If you have any questions, email us at support@put.io.
